Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
The short version. Try Closingbird free for 14 days with no card. Paid plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel yourself in a couple of clicks. If your first payment doesn't work out, tell us within 14 days and we'll refund it.
1. Free trial
New workspaces start with a 14-day free trial. No card is needed, so a trial can never turn into a charge by itself. When the trial ends, your transactions stay in your account, and you can choose a plan at any time to carry on where you left off.
2. Plans and renewal
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically at the end of each period at the price then in effect, until you cancel. You'll see the price and renewal date before you pay, and in Plan & billing afterwards. If we change your plan's price, we'll tell you before the change, and it applies only from your next renewal.
3. Changing plans
You can change plans at any time from Plan & billing. Moving to a bigger plan takes effect right away, and the difference for the rest of your current period is added to your next invoice. Moving to a smaller plan also takes effect right away, with no credit for the current period, and the lower price applies from your next renewal. If you have more active transactions or team members than the smaller plan allows, nothing is deleted, but you won't be able to open new transactions or add people until you're under the limit.
4. Cancelling
Cancel at any time from Plan & billing, without contacting us or giving a reason. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for. You keep full access until then and aren't charged again. There's no cancellation fee. If you can't cancel in the app for any reason, contact us and we'll cancel it from the day you asked.
5. Refunds
Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, and we don't prorate a period you cancel partway through, with these exceptions:
- Your first payment, within 14 days. If your first paid period on a new subscription isn't working for you, contact us within 14 days of the charge for a full refund.
- An annual renewal you didn't use. If a yearly plan renewed and you haven't used Closingbird since, contact us within 30 days of the charge for a full refund.
- Duplicate or incorrect charges are always refunded in full.
- Extended outages. If Closingbird is unavailable for a prolonged period through our fault, we'll credit or refund the affected time.
Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5-10 business days depending on your bank. We don't refund fees for an account suspended or closed for breaking our Acceptable Use Policy. Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under the law where you live.
6. Monthly allowances
Plans include monthly allowances, such as text messages and AI credits. Allowances reset each month. Unused amounts don't roll over and aren't refundable.
7. Questions
For anything about billing, cancelling or a refund, contact us. We usually reply within one business day.
